This handsome, 52-story limestone skyscraper is one of the tallest residential high-rises in Chicago, and it’s also one of the most impressive. The building was constructed in 2003, and it has 250 separate units, and one of its most distinguishing features is its attractive “chateau-like” roof. Because of the building’s location and because of the luxury that many of the condos within, The Fordham has a reputation for being one of the most expensive residences in Chicago, but that’s due in large part to the fact that the top 10 floors of the building are luxury penthouses, most of which cost between $1 million and $1.5 million. The smaller one- and two-bedroom condos in the building are much more affordable.
The Fordham has a number of special features, ranging from daily maid service to an in-house wine cellar and a cigar humidor club. The building also features 18-hour room service, spa services, a perennial garden deck on the 11th floor, and a private theater that can be reserved in advance. There is also an indoor swimming pool, a fully-equipped fitness center, and a business center with conference facilities. Indoor garage parking is available, and there is also additional storage space on site.
