Recognized around the world as one of the most iconic buildings on the Chicago skyline, the John Hancock center is the third tallest skyscraper in Chicago, and it’s one of the city’s most treasured landmarks. The Hancock Center currently has some of the highest residences in the world, and because of its location at the tip of Michigan Avenue’s “Magnificent Mile” shopping district, residents of this building are never in want of things to do. Condos only take up a small portion of the 100-story mixed-use skyscraper, as there are fashion retailers and restaurant on the ground floors, offices on the lower half of the building, and 700 owner-occupied condos on the upper half of the building. Additionally, the top floors of the building are popular among tourists, as the 94th floor has an observation deck with exhibits about Chicago’s history, and the 95th floor is home to the city’s highest restaurant, the Signature Room.

It goes without saying that a condo in one of Chicago’s most iconic buildings is going to be a bit on the pricey side, although a smaller condo in the building can be quite affordable. A one-bedroom condo in the Hancock Center typically is typically listed anywhere between $250,000 and $650,000, depending on the various amenities and furnishing that are provided, and a larger two- or three-bedroom condo in the building can run anywhere from the high $700,000s to $1.5 million. In addition to the listing prices, taxes typically cost between $2,000 and $3,000, and assessments can cost as much as $350 per month.
